Our company has been organising professional courses in the maintenance and operation of, among other things, deck cranes for many years. We conduct classes in accordance with the requirements applied by the UDT. We have many years of experience and provide comprehensive preparation for the operation and repair of deck cranes.  

How do you become a crane maintainer? 

In order to obtain the UDT maintenance technician qualification, it is necessary to take a state examination before a board of the Office of Technical Inspection. Our classes take into account the current examination requirements set by the UDT.  

Curriculum

During the training, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the different types of deck cranes and how to operate them, as well as learning about the techniques and procedures involved in loading and unloading cargo on a vessel.  

Course topics include, but are not limited to:  

helmeted deck crane maintainer
  • repairing defects,  
  • requirements Health and Safety,  
  • familiarise yourself with the specifications of specific models,  
  • crane construction,  
  • proper handling of equipment,  
  • control system operation,  
  • maintenance plans, 
  • workplace preparation. 

Responsibilities of the conservator

According to current legislation, all owners of equipment subject to UDT are required to carry out a periodic technical inspection. Therefore, each plant must properly and timely report its equipment for inspection. If this requirement is not met, the UDT can impose an administrative penalty. There is therefore a high demand for people to maintain such equipment. Their job is the safety and efficiency of other facilities.  

Certificate 

At the end of the training, our trainees receive a certificate confirming their qualification to operate a deck crane. Our company also offers full technical support and consultation to our trainees.

What tasks does the deck crane have? 

Deck cranes are mainly used on ships and other vessels such as ferries, fishing boats and oil rigs. Their main task is the loading and unloading of goods from the vessel, as well as work related to the construction and maintenance of harbours, quays and offshore installations. 

Requirements  

To participate in the course, you must:  

  • be at least 18 years old,  
  • have a medical certificate,  
  • have at least a primary school education.
