What are SEP qualifications?
These are qualifications that can be obtained after attending training courses and passing examinations. They are among the most commonly required competences for a position as an electrician, power or gas network specialist. They are awarded for two types of activities carried out:
- D - work relating to the supervision of installations, as well as equipment, gas and electricity networks,
- E. - work relating to the operation of installations as well as equipment, gas and electricity networks
SEP authorisations can be divided into three groups:
- G1 - electrical courses,
- G2 – energy courses,
- G3 - gas courses.
SEP G1 - Electrical course
This is a training course dedicated to those who, in their work, will be responsible for the supervision and use of electrical power installations, equipment and networks. They will learn to install equipment that produces, transforms, transmits and uses electricity. They will be able to carry out control measurements, protect and repair, among other things:
- electrolysis equipment,
- overhead contact lines,
- electrical street lighting,
- electrical installations, equipment and networks whose voltage does not exceed 1kV,
- apparatus for border protection and used for rescue and firefighting purposes,
- power-generating equipment that is connected to the state electricity grid,
- units generating more than 50kW,
- electro-thermal equipment,
- equipment used in military armaments,
- apparatus for automatic adjustment.
SEP G2 - Energy course
It is dedicated to people who in their work will be responsible for the supervision and use of thermal installations, equipment and networks. They will learn to install equipment that produces, transforms, transmits and uses heat. They will be able to carry out control measurements, protect and repair, among other things:
- industrially used furnaces with a capacity of over 50 kW,
- refrigeration, air-conditioning and ventilation equipment over 50kW,
- Water and steam turbines over 50kW including auxiliary apparatus,
- equipment used in military armaments,
- apparatus for border protection and used for rescue and firefighting purposes,
- gas, water, liquid and steam boilers of an output greater than 50 kW including auxiliary apparatus,
- compressors over 20 kW,
- industrial gas and compressed air systems,
- suction units, pumps, blowers and fans over 50kW,
- facilities for the collection, discharge and storage of fuels in excess of 100 Mg.
SEP G3 - Gas course
This is a training course dedicated to those who, in their work, will be responsible for the supervision and use of gas installations, equipment and networks. They will learn to install equipment that produces, transforms, transmits and uses gas. They will be able to carry out control measurements, protect and repair, among other things:
- gaseous fuel appliances used in industry with a power of more than 50 kW,
- gas stations, gas compressor stations and gas pipelines having a pressure greater than 0.5 MPa,
- apparatus for the storage of gaseous fuels,
- gas stations, pressure reduction points and pipelines having a maximum pressure of 0.5 MPa,
- natural gas conversion facilities,
- gas installations and appliances,
- gas turbines,
- a device for measuring, testing and directing an installation, network or piece of apparatus,
- appliances that produce gaseous fuels,
- apparatus for compressing air.
Requirements for trainees
Those aiming to obtain SEP qualifications should only meet two requirements:
- be at least 18 years old,
- have a minimum of basic education.
Course format
The theoretical part of the course for G1, G2 or G3 can take place either onsite or remotely. The practical part of the course takes place either on-site at our training centres or at the client's company premises.
Exam
After the training, you have to pay the fee and apply for the exam, making sure to fill in all the necessary data. The examination is oral and you can pass or fail. You do not receive a mark for the exam.
Once we have passed the exam, the commission will provide us with a certificate confirming our new qualification within 14 days.
In the event of a negative result, you can try again to take the exam, not forgetting to apply again and pay the fee.
Price
The cost of the course is determined by the size of the group, the larger it is, the more attractive the price becomes.
Place of training
Courses take place at our headquarters in Warsaw and other facilities located in many cities across Poland. In addition, we offer the option of training with travel to the client.
Validity of allowances
All entitlements are valid for a period of 5 years, from successfully passing the examination.
