How to become a fitter of flange connections?
What are flange connections?
Flange connections are understood to mean opposite flanges that are joined using a minimum of four bolts. Most connections have a gasket between the flanges. There are also flange-to-flange connections. Traditional flange connections consist of:
- two steel flanges - symmetrical about the axis,
- gaskets,
- bolts with nutswhich act as a binder.
Of course, when it comes to the materials from which the joints are made, they can differ - it all depends on the systems used.
Growing popularity
Flange connections are very popular in the industrial market. There are many reasons why this steady trend is being observed. One of the reasons for this is the advantage of choosing flanged connections. Among the most common are:
TIGHTNESS | Good quality flanges guarantee efficiency and reliability for many years of operation. |
STIFFNESS | The use of flange connections protects the structure against deflection and mechanical damage. |
SEPARATION | The bolts in the flange connections allow the flange to be disconnected easily if necessary. - it is very helpful in the event of a fault, breakdown. |
Installation of flange connections
Returning to our hypothetical situation at the beginning of this post - how to deal with the assembly of flange connections during a fault?
STAGE I Specialists who have the necessary qualifications and deal with the assembly of flanged connections on a daily basis, choose the necessary tools, e.g. manual or hydraulic torque wrenches.
STAGE II The same specialists tighten the screws, taking into account the torque resulting from the calculations. As a result, it is possible to adjust the tightening force of the flanges to the given system.
STAGE III The final phase are formal matters - the new installation created in this way should be documented with a protocol.
What to do to get the license to install flange connections?
With us, the process of obtaining the necessary qualifications is very simple. The prerequisite is the training course, which is provided by ERGON. The training consists of two parts:
- theoretical part and
- practical classes.
The course concludes with an examination administered by a certification body, after which participants receive a certificate.
