Are you considering doing compressor training?
Compressor operation course
ERGON offers a course in compressor operation. With our company you will learn how to operate a compressor in a safe and efficient manner. Under the guidance of our training staff, you can acquire the know-how to operate and maintain any type of coupled air system.
Why do we need a compressor permit?
Compressors, compressors, suction nozzles, blowers and other compressed air systems are devices with a very wide range of applications. Specialised compressors can be found in virtually every automotive workshop. Compressors do not only find their place at the mechanic's shop, they can be found basically everywhere where compressed air is needed. Compressed air systems are also used in pressure painting or when operating any pneumatic tools.
In all these cases, a compressed air system installer and maintainer will find his or her job. It is therefore worth considering doing a compressor licensing course.
What does a compressor course look like?
In Poland, compressors are among the equipment subject to technical supervision. This means that in order to operate them, it is necessary to have the relevant qualification, which is granted by the Office of Technical Inspection. In order to obtain the relevant qualification, you must first pass a course and successfully complete a final examination before a commission from the UDT.
Compressor training consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, the trainees receive information in the form of lectures on the safe operation and maintenance of the machine. Topics covered in the ERGON compressor course include:
- Legislative acts governing the operation and maintenance of coupled air systems,
- Types of compressors and principles of operation,
- Starting and stopping work with the compressor,
- Maintaining technical records for compressor maintenance,
- Requirements for pressure vessels under UDT regulations,
- Compressor capacity control,
- Automatic pressure control,
- Health and safety regulations.
Then, in the practical part, trainees can practise the acquired knowledge in a controlled environment. Here, trainees have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the specifications of the compressor and the equipment needed to maintain it properly. As part of its training courses, ERGON provides all trainees with access to equipment specially adapted for this type of exercise. This allows those taking our company's courses to take the final exam with the confidence of passing it.
The exam, similar to the compressor course itself, consists of a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, trainees must answer a series of open and closed questions confirming their knowledge of the principles of safe compressor use. Then, in the practical part, those who pass the exam must correctly perform a number of activities related to the maintenance and operation of the compressed air system in front of a commission appointed by the UDT. Those who pass both parts of the exam are awarded a compressor licence.
The expiry date for compressor qualifications issued by the UDT is five years. After this period, you must pass the examination again with a positive result to renew your licence.
How much compressor training does it take?
The length of a compressor course depends on a number of factors. The most important factor here is the level of experience of each trainee. Our company offers compressor courses both for people with no experience and those who just want to refresh their previously acquired qualifications. In the case of beginners, the length of the course can be up to several dozen hours. For those just renewing a previously acquired permit, ERGOB offers express courses, lasting one day and ending on the same day with an exam.
