About the course
The course consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The lectures, as well as the practical classes, are conducted by our qualified and experienced training staff. Theoretical classes are held at our training centre or at the client's premises. It is also possible to attend lectures online via an e-learning platform. Practical classes take place under the guidance of experienced operators and maintenance engineers of on-board cranes. During the class, they will try to give you as much information as possible in such a way as to best prepare you not only for the exam, but also for your job as a maintainer or operator of on-board cranes. This part of the class takes place in the manoeuvring area on the equipment.

- issues related to the provision of pre-medical and fire-fighting assistance.
Entitlements
After successfully passing the final exam, each course participant will receive a certificate authorising them to work as a deck crane operator, issued by the Office of Technical Inspection.

Requirements
To join the course, you must meet the basic requirements:
- be at least 18 years old,
- have a minimum of primary education,
- have a medical certificate of good health.

Responsibilities of the operator
- Checking the technical condition of the lift: before starting work, the operator must carefully check the condition of the crane to ensure that it is operating safely and without breakdown.
- Workplace preparation: the operator must ensure that suitable conditions are in place for the crane to work, including proper preparation of the area, designation of safety zones and securing the area from unauthorised persons.
- Maintaining constant eye contact: the operator must maintain constant visual contact with the load and surroundings to avoid collisions and other dangerous situations.
- Controlling the movement of the crane: the operator must control the movement of the crane, ensuring safe and precise manoeuvring in line with ergonomic principles.
- Work in accordance with safety procedures: the operator must act in accordance with the safety procedures and instructions of the crane manufacturer so as to minimise the risk of accidents.
- Reporting of defects: if defects or irregularities are found, the operator must report them immediately to the relevant person to avoid the risk of an accident.
What are deck cranes used for?
Deck cranes are equipment used in marine, offshore and also port transportation. They are used to load and unload ships, as well as to move materials. In order to work as a deck crane maintainer, it is necessary to obtain the relevant qualifications. To obtain these, simply enrol on our course.
