What is a sling?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A sling is a component of the lifting equipment of a crane, gantry or hoist on which the load to be lifted is suspended, supported or lashed. The sling makes it possible to move both delicate loads and large, heavy ones. A large number of different types of components and materials are required to construct such slings. We can classify slings from various angles. There are two main types:\u00a0General Purpose - Draw-wire sling<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

They are manufactured from equal materials. Due to the type of work to be carried out, we have different types of tendon sling: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rope slings\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

They are used for both vehicle pulling (as winches on trucks or off-road vehicles) and heavy lifting. They are a standard accessory in industry and the construction industry. Rope slings are made of stranded steel and galvanised wires. The ropes are braided around a fibre core. They can be classified according to the type of clamp, the number of strands or the type of termination. As far as the number of strands is concerned, there are four types of these slings: one-, two-, three-, four-strand and one-, two-loop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chain slings\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

They are made of steel chains and are the strongest of all slings. This is why this type of sling is used in jobs that require the transport of very heavy loads (often in industry and construction). They can handle weights from 1 to 100 tonnes. They are used in what is known as material handling. Chain slings are resistant to changing weather conditions and mechanical damage. A distinction is made between one-, two-, three- and four-legged slings, single- and double-loop slings as well as hook and link and closed-circuit slings.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natural and synthetic fibre webbing slings\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Belt slings are light, soft and flexible. They allow a better distribution of forces when the load is pressure-sensitive. They are used to transport materials with sensitive surfaces.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special purpose - gripping and hooking\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When the use of general-purpose slings is not sufficient, special-purpose slings are used. These are made using a different technology, e.g. special-purpose slings for the transport and handling of technical gas storage cylinders.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slings can be used in many different ways. They are often found in heavy industry: metallurgy, factories or metallurgy, but we also find them in the automotive, armament or construction industries.  <\/p>\n\n\n

Maintenance and inspection of slings\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In order to work safely with slings, regular checks and inspections are necessary. Before using a piece of equipment for the first time, an initial inspection should always take place. This is to check that it can be used for work. Thereafter, the condition of the slings should be checked before each subsequent use. In addition to the daily inspection of slings, it is compulsory to carry out technical tests on them (for example, once a year for rope, belt and chain slings and every 6 months for shackles). Proof that the testing has been carried out and that the slings have been approved for use is provided by a protocol. Sometimes there is a requirement to mark the test carried out directly on the sling (in the form of a tag or plate).   <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Ze wzgl\u0119du na typ wykonywanej pracy mamy r\u00f3\u017cne rodzaje zawiesi ci\u0119gnowych:  Zawiesia linowe\u00a0 S\u0142u\u017c\u0105 one zar\u00f3wno do ci\u0105gni\u0119cia pojazd\u00f3w (jako wci\u0105garki w samochodach ci\u0119\u017carowych lub terenowych), jak i do podnoszenia ci\u0119\u017ckich gabaryt\u00f3w. S\u0105 standardowym osprz\u0119tem w przemy\u015ble oraz w bran\u017cy budowlanej. Zawiesia linowe zrobione s\u0105 ze splot\u00f3w stalowych i ocynkowanych drut\u00f3w. Liny zaplecione s\u0105 dooko\u0142a w\u0142\u00f3kiennego rdzenia. Mo\u017cna je sklasyfikowa\u0107 ze wzgl\u0119du na rodzaj zacisku, liczb\u0119 ci\u0119gien czy rodzaj zako\u0144czenia. Je\u017celi chodzi o liczb\u0119 ci\u0119gien, to wyr\u00f3\u017cniamy 4 typy tych zawiesi: jedno, dwu, trzy, czteroci\u0119gnowe oraz jedno, dwu p\u0119tlowe.  Zawiesia \u0142a\u0144cuchowe\u00a0 Wykonane s\u0105 ze stalowych \u0142a\u0144cuch\u00f3w i s\u0105 najmocniejsze ze wszystkich zawiesi. Dlatego te\u017c wykorzystuje si\u0119 ten rodzaj zawiesi przy pracach, kt\u00f3re wymagaj\u0105 transportowania bardzo ci\u0119\u017ckich \u0142adunk\u00f3w (cz\u0119sto w przemy\u015ble oraz budownictwie). Mog\u0105 one przenosi\u0107 gabaryty od 1 do 100 ton. Wykorzystuje si\u0119 je w tak zwanym transporcie bliskim. Zawiesia \u0142a\u0144cuchowe s\u0105 wytrzyma\u0142e na dzia\u0142anie zmiennych warunk\u00f3w atmosferycznych oraz uszkodzenia mechaniczne.
